Responsibilities
As our chef, you will take responsibility for overseeing specific sections of the kitchen, ensuring the preparation, cooking and presentation of food meet the highest standards of quality and consistency.
You will work closely with the Executive Chef to deliver exceptional culinary experiences for our guests. You will be responsible for managing your section of the kitchen and kitchen team, ensuring exceptional cuisine is delivered at all times. You will manage relevant costs within the established budget, and you will assist with implementing processes to guarantee the highest quality, creativity and customer satisfaction.
What We Are Looking For
- Manage and oversee the preparation and cooking of dishes in a specific section of the kitchen (e.g., grill, sauce, pastry etc) ensuring the highest standards of quality and consistency.
- Follow recipes, portion control guidelines, and health and safety regulations whilst preparing and cooking food.
- Supervise and train junior kitchen staff in your section, providing support as needed.
- Assist with menu planning and the development of new dishes.
- Monitor food quality and presentation to meet hotel standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ensure that your section is well-stocked, organised, and clean and that all equipment is properly maintained.
- Maintain effective communication with other sections of the kitchen to ensure smooth operations and timely service.
- Assist with inventory management, including ordering ingredients and tracking supplies to ensure stock levels are maintained.
- Ensure all food safety and sanitation standards are followed in your section.
- Manage kitchen operations, ensuring the kitchen is prepared for busy service periods.
- Adhere to hotel policies and procedures regarding food safety, hygiene and workplace behaviour.
