Queen’s Department of Family Medicine is seeking a family physician to join the Queen’s Family Health Organization (FHO) in beautiful, historic Kingston, Ontario.
Queen’s Family Health Team (QFHT) has 24 physicians in our Family Health Organization (FHO) providing comprehensive, exemplary care for about 20,000 patients. The physician team is supported by dedicated nursing, allied health professionals, pharmacist, reception, administrative staff, and on-site IT. QFHT has 2 sites:
- 220 Bagot Street, Kingston, ON, K7L 3G2
- 115 Clarence Street, Kingston, ON K7L 0A3
Clinical responsibilities
- Based within QFHT, assuming an existing practice and rostering new patients.
- On-call group – providing call approximately one night per month and three weekends per year.
- Regularly supervising and evaluating residents and medical students.
- Attending faculty development sessions, in addition to continuing medical education as per departmental expectations.

Requirements
The preferred candidate will have demonstrated experience or interest in clinical teaching of both undergraduate medical students and postgraduate trainees. With the implementation of competency-based medical education (CBME) and assessment into the department’s postgraduate program, the successful candidate will be required to participate on a regular basis in the supervision of residents and medical students. This will include serving as an academic advisor for assigned residents, completing field notes and in‑training evaluations, participating in practice examinations and in the preparation of such examinations; and attending faculty development sessions, in addition to continuing medical education as per departmental expectations. Applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario on or before the appointment start date, and preference will be given to applicants who have current, valid certification (or equivalent) in family medicine from the College of Family Physicians of Canada.
