Infrastructure Support Engineer

Salary Details: BS 26-29 (currently £32,916 – £36,573)

Hours of Work: Full-time 37 hours per week

Contract Type: Permanent, Salaried

We’re seeking an Infrastructure Support Engineer to join our IT team in a developmental, hands-on role supporting servers, networks, virtualisation and security systems. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with early experience (or an apprenticeship / placement background) who wants to grow their technical skills in a supportive environment.

What you’ll do

  • Assist with day-to-day infrastructure operations (servers, storage, virtualisation and networks)
  • Monitor system health, dashboards, backups and alerts
  • Carry out routine tasks, checks and basic diagnostics
  • Resolve lower-level incidents and escalate complex issues to senior engineers
  • Support backup, patching and basic security activities
  • Maintain accurate documentation, asset and configuration records
  • Work within ITSM processes (Incident, Request and Change)

    • What we’re looking for

  • Practical experience in an IT infrastructure or technical support environment
  • Basic understanding of servers, operating systems, networking or storage
  • Ability to follow procedures and work methodically
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail
  • A strong desire to learn and develop in infrastructure technologies

  • Cefnogi gweithgareddau copïau wrth gefn, patsio a diogelwch sylfaenol
  • Cynnal cofnodion dogfennaeth, asedau a chyfluniad cywir
  • Gweithio o fewn prosesau ITSM (Digwyddiad, Cais a Newid)
