South Road Dermatology is seeking a mature and reliable Medical Receptionist to join our team on a casual basis at our clinic in Brighton East, VIC. This would be primarily to work Fridays all day (8am – 4:30pm), and the flexibility and capacity to cover sick and annual leave periods. There is also scope to take on extra days including Wednesdays and Thursdays all day (8-5), so up to 3 days per week regularly.

We plan to interview now, with time for training and handover over December and January period, with official rostered hours beginning at the end of the summer holidays (late January/early February).

As a Medical Receptionist, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service to our patients and supporting the smooth operation of our dermatology practice.

What you’ll be doing

• Greet and welcome patients in a professional and courteous manner
• Schedule and manage patient appointments, ensuring efficient flow and minimal waiting times
• Collect patient information and maintain accurate medical records
• Process payments and handle financial transactions
• Assist with general administrative tasks as needed
• Liaise with healthcare providers and other external stakeholders
• Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment

What we’re looking for

• Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar customer service role within healthcare
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with patients, clinicians and nurses
• Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively
• Proficient in using medical practice management software and other relevant IT systems. Knowledge of Genie software is an advantage
• A friendly, empathetic and customer-focused approach
• Must have Australian work rights to be eligible for this position
