About the Role
This is a hands‑on Project Scheduler role supporting a major defence capability program. Reporting directly to the Program Manager, you will take full ownership of the master program schedule, shaping how delivery is planned, challenged, and executed.
You will work closely with internal teams, subject matter experts, subcontractors, suppliers, and international colleagues to extract real inputs, test logic, and ensure the schedule is robust, accurate, and submission‑ready.
An immediate priority will be stepping into an existing schedule and preparing an updated submission to the Commonwealth. It is a high‑visibility, time‑critical role that requires confidence, strong fundamentals, and the ability to engage and challenge senior stakeholders.
Beyond the initial program, this role will play a key part in establishing and leading the scheduling function as the organisation continues to grow its Australian defence footprint, with opportunities to support additional programs and collaborate globally.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and own the master program schedule using MS Project or similar
- Control baselines, milestones, dependencies, and critical path
- Identify schedule risks and challenge sequencing assumptions
- Integrate subcontractor and supplier schedules
- Prepare schedule submissions and reporting for the Commonwealth
- Provide clear schedule insights to support delivery decisions
- Operate autonomously as the organisation’s scheduling specialist
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience delivering hands‑on project scheduling in complex environments
- Strong capability in MS Project. Primavera experience is highly regarded
- Solid understanding of critical path methodology
- Experience across engineering, manufacturing, infrastructure, or defence programs
- Confident communicator able to engage and challenge stakeholders
- Defence or Commonwealth program exposure is beneficial
- Australian citizenship required
