Position Details

Employment Type: Permanent Full Time | Position Classification: Registered Nurse | Remuneration: $74, – $104, per annum | Hours Per Week: 38 | Location: Cumberland Hospital, Western Sydney.

What You’ll Be Doing

This is a rewarding nursing role where your clinical skills and compassion combine to deliver real outcomes for vulnerable patients across Western Sydney.

• Deliver person‑centred, evidence‑based nursing case management for patients with drug, alcohol and complex health needs.
• Systematically assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care across WSLHD’s multi‑site network.
• Build collaborative relationships with patients, carers and the broader multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Promote quality improvement, evidence‑based practice and recovery‑oriented principles within the team.
• Apply knowledge of drug and alcohol dependence, treatment interventions and community support services.

Essential Criteria

• Current Nursing Registration (RN) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
• Current unrestricted NSW Drivers’ licence.
• Demonstrated understanding of evidence‑informed practice and critical thinking.
• Demonstrated commitment to person‑centred care and NSW Health Core Values.
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills within a multidisciplinary team.
• Evidence of participation in own professional development and commitment to maintaining competence and enhancement of skills, and willingness to apply and share professional expertise with colleagues.
• Evidence of computer literacy and understanding of relevant health‑related information systems.
• Demonstrated knowledge of drug and alcohol dependence issues and treatment interventions.
