Property Solicitor (Commercial and Residential)

Salary: £55,000 per annum

Minimum Experience: 5 years’ Post-Qualification Experience (PQE)

Principal Solicitor

Purpose of the Role

To manage a varied caseload of residential and commercial property matters, providing high-quality legal advice and excellent client service while contributing to the continued growth and development of the Property Department.

Key Responsibilities

Manage a caseload of residential conveyancing matters from instruction through to completion.

Advise on commercial property transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, leases, assignments, licences and refinancing.

Draft and negotiate contracts, leases and related legal documentation.

Liaise with clients, lenders, estate agents, surveyors and other professionals.

Ensure compliance with SRA requirements, lender instructions, AML regulations and internal procedures.

Develop and maintain strong client relationships.

Conduct and support file reviews

Participate in networking, marketing and business development activities.

Supervise and mentor paralegals, trainee solicitors (where applicable), volunteers and work experience students as required.

Delegate work appropriately and oversee the quality and timely completion of delegated tasks.

Assist with the training and development of junior members of the team.

Meet agreed billing, file management and performance targets.

Undertake any other duties reasonably required by the Principal Solicitor.

Essential Requirements

Qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 5 years’ PQE.

Strong experience in residential and commercial property.

Ability to manage files independently.

Excellent client care, drafting and communication skills.

Demonstrable ability to supervise and support junior staff, including paralegals, volunteers and work experience students.

Strong organisational and time management skills.

Commitment to high professional and ethical standards.
