REQUIREMENTS

  • Alberta
    Journeyman
     or
    Inter-Provincial Red
    Seal
     Certification
  • 2+ (two)
    years of recent work experience in the trade and/or food
    industry.
  • Physically capable of performing the
    tasks attached to your job duties.
  • Available to
    work evening shift 14:00-23:30
  • Ability to read,
    write and communicate in English while following written and verbal
    instructions.

JOB
DUTIES AND TASKS

  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams,
    and schematic drawings to determine work
    procedures.
  • Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot
    mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to identify
    malfunctions or irregularities.
  • Adjust, repair,
    or replace defective parts and components, such as bearings,
    shafts, seals, and valves, ensuring compliance with production and
    safety standards.
  • Operate machine tools to
    fabricate replacement parts needed during maintenance, overhaul, or
    setup of equipment.
  • Perform preventive and
    predictive maintenance on machinery used in meat processing,
    including slicers, grinders, mixers, conveyors, and vacuum
    packaging systems.
  • Use lockout/tagout (LOTO)
    procedures and adhere to all company safety policies and food
    safety protocols during maintenance and repair
    activities.
  • Collaborate with production and
    sanitation teams to coordinate equipment repairs and ensure timely
    start-up of operations after maintenance.
  • Test
    and calibrate equipment after installation or servicing to verify
    operational efficiency and safety
    performance.
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns
    and perform corrective actions to reduce production
    interruptions.
  • Participate in continuous
    improvement initiatives to optimize equipment performance and
    reduce maintenance costs.
